What came first? The Hen or the Egg!

Well, we have our own reasons to justify what came first. You can just go on and debate for long hours. Eventually you will realize that the world is not going to change by knowing it and you will end up repenting - such a waste of time. But, what if I apply the same logic in selecting a career? Should career choice be based on what I really want to be or wait till the results are announced and then decide what career to choose?

In our country marks play a vital role if one wants admission in the best college. Then it doesn’t matter how well I understand a particular subject or a stream. Surprisingly, at this point, the “student” in us takes a back seat knowingly or unknowingly. Eventually, we turn out to be the mug-up masters. Well, we put efforts in knowing the very art of mugging-up. Ironically, we are programmed in such a way that securing marks precede over understanding a topic, lesson, concept or a subject. Book shops are full of Q & A guides to excel the art. However, the reality we all know; most of the mugged-up stuff is forgotten the moment exams are over.

Nevertheless, securing marks too is equally important. However, the way we secure it makes a great difference. Again the question is; what knowledge does the brain retain then? The most exasperating thing is what have we learnt in those 10-12 years? Simply nothing. Or I can say the art of securing marks.  It’s now really important to think.

First Step:

It is now time we fundamentally understand what education is? Education means to educate - to educe and bring out internal qualities and potential of a child. Understand what’s in a child’s mind. Channelise and nurture their thought process and utilize it for the right cause or the task. But our education system acts in a reverse way. It only induces information of the world where one can become successful degree holder. Are such individual beings called educated? Many schools have realized this fact and started acting on it.

If you are seriously pondering on this shocking reality then you need to take the first step in the right direction. The most future perfect idea is identifying and deciding a right career path much in advance. In order to do that the identification of child’s genius and passion turns out to be the imperative elements. And it is recommended that the parents should initiate this process 1 or 2 years before you hit the 1^st milestone of your career i.e. 10^th standard. It always pays to make an informed decision and walk the relevant path. So that students remain focused in what they want to achieve happily.
